Minister for Industries and Infrastructure Development M. B. Patil informed the Legislative Council that there was no violation in the allotment of civic amenity sites by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).

He was responding to an allegation by member C. T. Ravi in the council during the winter session of the legislature on December 17.

All KIADB CA sites have been allotted as per the guidelines issued by the government of Karnataka, and there was no irregularity in the allotment of plots, he said.

The Minister said that of the 96.59 acres developed by KIADB, as many as 41 CA/amenity plots have been allotted in various industrial areas after June 2023.

“No irregularities were found in them. As per the board’s rules, the allottees have to pay the outstanding amount for the plot within the stipulated period, get the allotment confirmation letter, possession letter, and then execute the lease and sale agreement for a period of 10 years,” he said. “As per the terms of the lease and sale agreement, the allottees have a period of three years from the date of the lease and sale agreement to implement their projects,” he said.

To another question, the Minister said that since the board has recently allotted the CA/amenity plots, some were still at the stage of project implementation. He clarified that there was no case of the plots being used for other purposes.
