What happened was that companies across the sectors including airports and airlines using Microsoft’s Window 10 as operating system experienced a problem called “Blue Screen of Death” when they tried to run an update of the operating system on Friday.

This meant that computers using the particular OS got stuck on a blue screen ‘recovery’ screen and would give the response “it looks like Windows didn’t load correctly. If you’d like to restart and try again, choose restart”. This was reported around noon.
“The aftermath of this was that computers which were running on Windows 10 remained stuck at restarting after updates. This affected most firms using Windows 10 as their operating systems in Infopark Kochi. A great majority of these firms use either windows 11 or windows 10 for their operating systems” Anish Panthalani, President Progressive Techies said.
Since it is user-based, the problem had little implications for server side since it is based on user behaviour. He said an update to one specific driver caused the issue.
While some other companies were directly contacting Microsoft staff regarding possible remedies for the situation, others used workarounds to skirt around it.
Ten domestic flights – Indigo, Spice Jet & Akash Air – were delayed at Kochi airport due to the difficulty. It was part of a global outage and it is said that a solution is being worked out,” said airport sources
