Beijing: China has accused the British secret intelligence organization MI6 of transforming two unnamed Chinese central state body employees into spies for their government, according to the country’s ministry of state security on Monday. The ministry stated that there are still some aspects under investigations in connection with the case against them that are currently undergoing further scrutiny.
According to the statement, Wang — a spy with this name — was educated in England as part of an exchange program and was secretly invited to dinners and sightseeing tours organized by MI6. A man who was interested in money was reported to have been induced into taking up part-time advice work at high fees at first, and it was afterwards when he was recruited by this British service agency for greater financial rewards and security by serving his nation better. He agreed.
After being trained how to be a spy, Wang was ordered by MI6 to return home so that he could gather crucial data about the Chinese government. According to the ministry, MI6 also convinced Wang to recruit his wife, who worked in a “key government unit”, double payment. She finally agreed though her surname is Zhou.
