The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, plans to grace the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee next week; this comes after her role in her husband’s presidential campaign remained a well-guarded secret. At the convention, Donald Trump will be officially announce as the party’s presidential candidate.
Nonetheless, it is unclear whether Melania will have a chance to speak or she will only be part of the official program of the gathering. These reports came shortly after Marla Maples, who used to be married to Trump, announced that she was willing to help him. Furthermore Marla added that “I could even think about being his vice president.”
When Melania attends this event it would be another major surprise from Trump camp during electioneering period – the first was Barron Trump’s entry into politics at his father’s rally in Florida on Wednesday.
Melania has maintained a low profile throughout this campaign and hinted that she would not assume the role of a full time First Lady if Donald Trump becomes President. She would like to split her tie between Washington DC where she’ll stay at White House and New York with her soon-to-be University student son-Barron Trump.
Since Donald launched his third presidential bid last year, Melania has only made two public appearances. She did not show up in any trial sessions when her husband faced charges over hush money. They missed Parami News June 27 Presidential Debate in Atlanta.
She also attended private fundraising events including one that took place on April 8th and another at their home at Trump Tower on July 8th.
Melania reportedly supports her husband according to his campaign advisors although she is very cautious when selecting political events where she should appear. Melania once stated: “I don’t need to stand by my husband like Jill Biden does”.
In both 2016 and 2020, Melania gave speeches at conventions whilst privately taking herself away from public life following Donald’s defeat in 2020.
