JERUSALEM: An official aware of the situation has said that next week will see a return to mediated negotiations between Israel and Hamas with regards to releasing Israeli hostages in Gaza.
The source disclosed this decision adding that he wished his name and origin left out as the matter is delicate. The Mossad head met CIA director and the Prime Minister of Qatar who become mediators thereby leading to such a decision.
“As the meeting ended, it was agreed that talks would be resumed next week on new proposals made by Egypt and Qatar and backed by intense US participation,” this person added.
Thus, the attempts to rescue more than 120 persons that were kidnapped by Hamas during its October 7th attack on southern Israel in accordance with the terms of a ceasefire agreement have not yielded results.
