On Pappinissery-Velapuram National Highway, a bike was hit by a car and this resulted in the death of a man in a hit-and-run incident. The accident happened on Monday at around 6:30 am.
Muhammad Sabith, aged 29 years, son to Ahmed and Fatima from Ponnanrakath House, Vellikkeel Ariyil was employed at Kozhikode. He used to ride his bike from home to Kannur railway station and then travel by train to his place of work. The accident took place as he headed towards his office .
After the accident, Sabith was taken to AKG Hospital in Kannur but he died on the way there. Witnesses stated that the vehicle did not stop after it hit his bike.
The police are still investigating this matter.
