West Bengal’s chief minister, Mamata Banerjee walked out of the meeting at NITI Aayog in New Delhi on 27th July as she claimed that she was prevented from speaking after five minutes.
She also criticized the Union Budget for 2024-25, calling it “biased”.
“Boycotting I came out of the meeting. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu spoke for twenty minutes. The CMs of Assam, Goa and Chhattisgarh spoke from ten to twelve minutes each. But my speech was interrupted after only five minutes. It is unfair. There are no other leaders to oppose here except me; because, I participated in this conference to strengthen cooperation between states.”
“This is a political budget… It’s a biased budget… I said why do you discriminate against other states? How will Niti Aayog work when it has no money? Give it financial powers or bring back Planning Commission,” Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo told reporters after coming out of the meeting.
