Banerjee says PM should be ashamed of going public with Sandesh Khali’s ‘BJP conspiracy’
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued to “peddle lies” about Sandesh Khali, questioning why he had leveled sexual harassment allegations against Governor Ananda Bose Remain silent without calling for his resignation.
Addressing an election rally in North 24 Parganas Amdanga, part of Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency, Banerjee said the Prime Minister should be brought to light for “BJP’s conspiracy about Sandesh Khali” And feel ashamed.
“The Prime Minister is still peddling lies about Sandesh Khali. He should be ashamed as the BJP conspiracy has now come to light. Jiah Khan’s protests while Sheikh received Rs 2,000 each accused of sexual assault and land grabbing .
In an earlier video, a man resembling Gangadhar Kayal, president of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sandesh Kali Mandal, said the “well-planned” protests were held after opposition leader Suvan Du Adhikari, who was the mastermind behind “the entire conspiracy”.
The Prime Minister, who is campaigning in West Bengal, alleged that TMC goons threatened the tortured women of Sandesh Khali and asked them to protect the criminals.
“All of us have seen what the TMC did to Sandeshkhali’s sisters and mother. TMC goons are now threatening the women of Sandeshkhali because the name of the culprit is Shajahan Sheikh. TMC is making every effort to protect the culprit of Sandeshkhali,” he claimed .
Banerjee said the Center’s inaction against the governor, who has been accused of molestation by Raj Bhavan’s staff, shows the “real anti-women character” of the BJP.
“Why did the Prime Minister not ask the Governor to resign during his overnight stay at Raj Bhavan?” she asked. Modi arrived in Kolkata on Saturday and stayed overnight at Raj Bhavan before embarking on a whirlwind campaign in the state on Sunday morning.
