Madhuri Dixit Nene, a Bollywood actress, is currently receiving criticism for her association with Rehan Siddiqi, who is of Pakistani descent and resides in Houston. This comes against the backdrop of his banishment from India by the government on an alleged count of being connected to ISI. Sunanda Vashisth made this known on Friday, June 28th via social media.

A Controversial Collaboration By Madhuri Dixit
Vashisth shared a poster advertising Madhuri’s appearance together with Rehan Siddiqi that was scheduled to take place in 2024 during August in Houston city just after 1 day after Indian Independence Day. She also used Twitter to ask Madhuri Dixit to back off from this invitation due to allegations made against Siddiqui concerning his connection with ISI.
Outcry from Public and Concerns by Government
Earlier today when Vashisth tweeted about him, she added a letter written four years ago by then MoS Home Affairs Kishan Reddy of BJP that specifically said Rehan Siddiqi has been blacklisted by Indian government. Her post read:
“Shocked t see @MadhuriDixit collaborating with a Pakistani origin promoter who has been under scan by Indian agencies and blacklisted by Govt of India. Minister @kishanreddybjp as MoS Home had publicly announced that Houston based Pakistani origin promoter. Rehan Siddiqi has been blacklisted and had requested Bollywood celebrities to not work with him.”
An Appeal to Madhuri Dixit
Furthermore, Vashisth turned to all friends, relatives and fans of Madhuri Dixit requesting them to assist her in informing her about Siddiqi’s history so that he may cancel their current deal. She reiterated how such relationships hurt the country’s security and those. Who have laid down their lives for the safety of India. The actress has yet to respond.

This follows another recent controversy involving Madhuri Dixit. Last month, the actress faced backlash after posting, and subsequently deleting, a message condemning Israel’s missile strike on Rafah.
On a professional note, this year saw Madhuri Dixit producing the film ‘Panchak’ in Marathi language. Which featured Addinath Kothare, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Bharti Achrekar among others. She is currently busy working on Dance Deewane 3 and plans about her next project are not yet publicized.
