Madalsa Sharma, who was seen playing the on-screen character of Kavya in famous serial Anupamaa, has confirmed that she is no more a part of the ongoing show. Shortly before this news, Sudhanshu Pandey who played the character of Vanraj Shah had also taken a leave from the show. Madalsa revealed in an interview that her decision to leave the show was not rash and emotional but was rather calculative. She believed that her character’s journey reached a point of closure.
Why Did Madalsa Sharma Leave Anupamaa?
Bombay Times caught up with Madalsa Sharma recently as she explained her views about coming up with a decision to quit the ongoing serial Anupamaa. She said that while Kavya’s character had been well developed in the previous seasons, there was a change of gears in the last year. “My character had tremendous growth, but in the past one year I felt that the story moved on from Vanraj, Kavya and Anupama” she asserted.
Madalsa narration changed by stating that some creative traits which were earlier present in the character of Kavya slowly drifted away, thus making the character less interesting. “There was not much spice or spark left in my character. ” There had been a certain security in her professional stance, she says. The actress explains that had Kavya persisted with her mantle of grey character, she would have stuck to the drama. However, no new concrete breakthroughs came up in the creative team’s attempts to uplift her character, and she chose to part ways with the producer of the show, Rajan Shahi.
Sudhanshu Pandey’s Exit
Sudhanshu Pandey’s absence from the show was soon followed Madness’ women madalsa exit which sought Madalsa. Going back to Sudhanshu for a minute, he portrayed Vanraj Shah and managed to remain a part of Anupamaa series for four years before making the difficult decision to quit. In an interview with Free Press Journal, Sudhanshu had said that he felt he had reached a high point in that character. “In my very first meeting, I was told for four years do your best take Vanraj Shah. That’s fine, maybe an inch of my worth is sunk. But, I did feel that my growth was stunted and when I reached that stage, I decided to call it quits,” he revealed.
