Five labourers ended their lives when a cottage under construction at the resort of Madhya Pradesh Indore caved in on them on Friday (August 23, 2024).
Last night on Thursday (August 22, 2024) when the labourers were sleeping beneath it, it happened at Choral village in Mhow tehsil which is about 40 km from the district headquarters, police official explained.
The bodies have been sent to hospital, said Indore (Rural) Superintendent of Police Hitika Wasal over phone from the spot when contacted by PTI.
She added that at around 6:30 am that morning they received information and police were dispatched. According to her five people died after being taken away by floods; hence this is not an accident but an event that could have been prevented.
“This operation has finished with finding out five dead bodies. We have started investigating into the incident.” She said.
When other labourers arrived for work at the site this morning, they reported the accident: Inspector Amit Kumar; Simrol police station . Earlier on, one worker died while five others got trapped under debris according to another officer.
