New Delhi—Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu is speaking in the Lok Sabha.
New Delhi: The Lok Sabha on Friday (August 9, 2024) passed a Bill to replace the 90-year-old Aircraft Act and further improve the ease of doing business in the aviation space.
In an attempt to remove duplications, and substitute the Aircraft Act, 1934—the subject of 21 amendments—making India one of the fastest growing civil aviation markets across the globe.
The Bill was moved for consideration before it could be taken up for passage by K. Rammohan Naidu Minister for Civil Aviation at Rajya Sabha and he added that ministry will put up “an efficient online mechanism” where people can register their complaints including increase in airfare and get quick response from government.
According to him, there should be a balance between airlines’ profitability and not overcharging customers on airfares. The Bill also has provisions governing aircraft design/manufacture thus supporting Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Additionally, Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Naidu mentioned that it would promote making of helicopters. It was cleared by voice vote.
