It happened on July 30, 2024 that a landslip has affected the movement of vehicles along Shiradi Ghat stretch of Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway (NH 75) at Doddathappale village in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district in Karnataka.
The movement of vehicles on Shiradi Ghat stretch of Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway (NH 75) is greatly hampered by a landslide at Doddathappale village in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district in Karnataka.
On July 30, several huge parts of a hill came down to hit cars driving on it. In all, there were two trucks and one car that had stuck in mud. Heavy earthmovers have been deployed to clear the mud on the road.
This pass serves as a connection between the coastal region and the capital city Bangalore. The road carries about 25,000 vehicles daily.
It was earlier decided by the district administration to close movement for motorized traffic on this stretch due to landslides that took place on July 18; however later it allowed only day time traffic.
As we speak now there are many vehicles stuck on this road.
A major landslide happened just before Harle estate near Sakleshpur taluk last night. Which swept away part of an alternative road leading to Bangalore-Mangalore highway. The massive slip occurred during night hours on July 29. Its impact could be seen across many villages roads which have been broken up by this slide in that area.
