Kubbra Sait to be see as police officer in Deva, alongside Shahid Kapoor
Deva looks promising
She told Hindustan Times that her role in Deva was exciting and she was looking forward to it. “I am playing a cop and I am thrill about the action that I’m getting an opportunity to do. So, right now shooting for it and having loads of fun. I am seeing Mumbai like never before. I am seeing the heat, the rain, live locations and it’s a high-intensity physical shoot,” she said.
Working with Shahid Kapoor
Kubbra Sait on her part praised her co-star Shahid Kapoor for his ability and commitment to his craft. “Shahid and me did not have even one scene together in Farzi. This is going to be my first time working with him so far away from him he has a process which I watch. He is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors we have in our industry.” She explained that their first meeting took place when she hosted for Ishq Vishk movie in 2003 at age fifteen.
Celebrating 20 Years As A Host
Reflecting on how things were during her early days, Kubbra Sait mentioned, “So twenty years back in Bangalore I started out and my first gig was on a truck where I was announcing (actor) Shah Rukh Khan’s show Temptation is happening in Bangalore.” According to her hosting has some appeal because of its ‘instant gratification’.
Hosting Challenges And Changes
The hosting industry has changed according to Kubbra Sait who noted that many times popularity precedes experience. One moment stood out when she had bee replaced by someone more popular last minute. “I called the event organizers asking them what time they would pick me up since everything else had already been prepare by me with the call-time being 4 pm but no one came until 4:30 pm When I spoke to them they explained, ‘We had to replace you. We wanted a known face.’ I have lost gigs for not being known enough,” she said. However, being an actor has changed all that since she now feels more free in her work.
