K.T Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has accused Congress Govt. in the State of going back on its pre-poll promises to introduce many new welfare schemes and improve benefits under existing ones, but instead adopting an unusual mechanism that lacks human face.
In a statement last Saturday, Mr. Rama Rao also claimed that the Revanth Reddy Govt. had served notices to Aasara pension beneficiaries to deposit their money into bank accounts due to some technical and minor reasons.
For instance, this week, one notice was issued concerning Dasari Mallamma an 80-year old woman living at Kothagudem town in Bhadradri Kothagudem district who should return ₹1.73 lakh given as old-age pension within a week since she was granted dependent pension on account of death of her daughter an employee in Health Department in 2017 and did not qualify for Aasara pension.
Apart from Mallamma alone there are other thousands enrolled under Aasara who were notified. Otherwise sooner or later people will rebel against the Govt. policies as such.
