On Tuesday, the police from Bhadradri Kothagudem district arrested one more accused in the fake job racket case, raising the total number of people apprehended for the major job fraud to 10. The culprits were identified as D. Harika by the Chunchupalli police.
The police had earlier arrested nine members of this gang who allegedly duped about 60 unemployed youngsters out of ₹4.08 crore since 2018 by giving false promises of jobs in various government departments and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
The disappointed jobless youths filed different complaints against some members of this gang last year at different police stations within this area.
In connection with the fake job racket case, the police have so far confiscated a little over ₹1.47 crore and four tola gold ornaments plus a bike from those individuals previously apprehended.
From some portions of these funds collected from these unsuspecting jobseekers through false employment guarantees, they are said to have bought gold then pledged it for obtaining loans. Also being sought by law enforcement authorities are three other suspects that remain at large.
