In R.G Kar Medical College and Hospital, a doctor was raped and murdered twelve days ago. Since that time, the protests have not relented, but rather more than twelve rallies were held in Kolkata on Wednesday (21st August 2024).
The West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose visited the victim’s house where he met with her parents. The governor went directly to the home of the deceased physician from the airport upon his return from New Delhi where he had met President Droupadi Murmu. The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had been to the victims abode on August twelfth.
