On Friday, the Kolkata Police announced that so far, 19 individuals have been apprehended regarding the damage and violence at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in the city. “A court remanded custody of them to police till August 22,” officials said.
The Emergency Ward, Nursing Station, Medicine store and some parts of OPD in a city hospital were vandalized by hooligans on Thursday after midnight when women throughout West Bengal were protesting against alleged rape and murder of a doctor in its seminar hall on August 9th.
