According to reports, King Charles who is currently being treated for an unspecified type of cancer has said that he does not want to be disturbed even by his own son Prince Harry.
They met only briefly when the Duke of Sussex visited London after learning about his father’s illness but did not get together during Harry’s most recent trip to UK as well.
Michael Cole, a royal commentator, insists it was the king’s practical decision to avoid meeting his younger son. “The king is dealing with an undiagnosed cancer. This is really tragic thing for any person to undergo. He doesn’t want anything that will disturb his peace,” Mr Cole said on GB News.
Therefore, he said it was important for Charles as the head of state to focus on his recovery and at the same time carry out public duties as required by his position.
Cole also said that Charles was hurt by heartless and cruel comments that Harry had made about himself and Queen Camilla. The king wants to prevent such emotional damage from taking place because of these remarks, he suggested in conclusion: “I suppose if you were talking with a doctor in this kind of treatment one would say what you are going through is something you’ll just have to stay relaxed and clear your mind.”
Meanwhile, a royal expert Tom Quinn has shown that Charles was furious over Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit which had all the trappings of an official visit by a member of British royalty. According to Quinn however, this anger on the part of the monarch is unprecedented – “Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him”.
