As per an announcement by Buckingham Palace, Britain’s King Charles will visit Southport in the northwest region of England on Tuesday to pay his respects to the victims and families of a mass stabbing incident that occurred last month.
This visit comes three weeks after the July 29 attack that claimed three young girls lives, injured many others and led to countrywide riots in the UK. The event triggered social unrest, driven by viral falsehoods falsely blaming Islamist Muslim migrants.
“The King will travel to Southport soon to continue supporting those affected by the July 29th attack and subsequent riot which ensued within the town and also appreciate first responders for their continuous dedicated service toward local communities,” read part of a statement released by the palace.
In addition, Prince Charles is scheduled for meetings with some children who survived an assault on a Taylor Swift-themed dance class as well as their parents during his visit.
Earlier this month on August 10th, he made his first public statement since then influenced unrest calling for mutual respect and understanding following far-right violence against Muslims and migrants.
The spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: “It is hoped that His Majesty remains shared values such as respect and appreciation would continue to strengthen people and nation.”
