Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News host and current political figure, has long faced serious allegations of sexual harassment dating back to her time at the network. The accusations, which were first made public in 2018, involve a former assistant who claimed that Guilfoyle subjected her to degrading, sexually inappropriate behavior during her tenure at Fox.
According to a report by the New Yorker in the year 2020, the assistant, who had been hired in 2015 just out of college, alleged that Guilfoyle frequently engaged in inappropriate conduct, including displaying herself naked in the assistant’s presence and showing graphic photos of male genitalia from her past relationships.
The assistant further claimed that Guilfoyle spoke incessantly about her sex life in lurid detail, encouraged her to engage in sexual relationships with powerful men, and demanded that she share sleeping arrangements during business trips.
The New York Magazine reported the accuser as saying that Guilfoyle “on one occasion demanded a massage of her bare thighs,” “told her to submit to a Fox employee’s demands for sexual favors,” and “encouraged her to sleep with wealthy and powerful men.”
Multiple reports from The New Yorker, HuffPost, People corroborated the assistant’s claims, noting that the behavior was not limited to just the assistant.
Guilfoyle was said to have shared explicit material with other Fox employees, including photographs of male genitalia —some of romantic partners, others of fans — and even pornographic videos.
Some colleagues described how Guilfoyle’s graphic sexual talk made them uncomfortable, while others feared speaking out due to her prominent position within the network. A former Fox colleague who had been friendly with Guilfoyle said, “It was worse than gross—it put other women at Fox in such a terrible position.”
At the same time, the former colleague didn’t want to be complicit in behavior that she regarded as crude, unprofessional, and legally troubling. “It created an environment that was detrimental to young women,” the former colleague reportedly said.
The assistant also alleged that when the accusations came to light, Guilfoyle attempted to silence her by offering financial compensation in exchange for a fabricated statement.
In 2017, as the network launched an investigation into sexual misconduct under the leadership of Roger Ailes, the assistant claimed that Guilfoyle attempted to buy her silence. She rejected the offer, allegedly facing threats of retaliation in return.
In 2020, the former assistant reached an out-of-court settlement with Fox News, reportedly amounting to $4 million. Guilfoyle’s departure from the network in 2018 was linked to the internal investigation, which focused on her conduct, though the settlement effectively brought an end to any further legal action.
Throughout the years, Guilfoyle has vehemently denied all allegations of misconduct. In a statement to The New Yorker, she maintained, “In my 30-year career… I have never engaged in any workplace misconduct of any kind,” emphasizing her role as a mentor to many women in her career.
Despite the long-standing allegations, Guilfoyle has remained active in the political sphere. Recently, President-elect Donald Trump nominated her to serve as the United States Ambassador to Greece. The nomination has sparked debate, with some questioning the appropriateness of elevating someone with such a controversial past.
Guilfoyle’s lawyer continues to reject the allegations, calling them “patently false,” and emphasizing her reputation as a respected figure in both media and politics.
