Mumbai hoarding collapse victims included Kartik Aaryan’s kin: Report
Indian Express reported that Manoj Chansoria, who retired on March 31 this year, was a relative of Kartik Aaryan. Their connection was verified by a friend of their family. The two had stopped at a petrol pump in Ghatkopar when the tragedy happened on May 13th. At about 4:30 pm, their red SUV was hit by a big billboard weighing approximately 250 tonnes that fell due to strong winds.
Their son Yash lost touch with them that evening. Failing to contact his parents via telephone, Yash reached out to his father’s colleagues for assistance. This caused Manoj’s ex-colleagues to contact Mumbai Police. Through mobile network data, authorities were able to track the couple’s last location near Eastern Express Highway in Ghatkopar.
After several hours of searching, friends and colleagues found the bodies of the couple beneath fallen hoardings debris. Yash flew back to India immediately after he heard his parents were missing. Sahar crematorium hosted the final rites on Thursday.
Meanwhile, as he gears up for the release of his upcoming movie titled Chandu Champion directed by Kabir Khan, news about this personal tragedy prevails. The film is scheduled for release on June 14 and it is based on the life story of Murlikant Petkar who won India its first Paralympic gold medal in sports drama biography format.”
