The sanction of prosecuting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over allegations of wrong doing in MUDA site allocation by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has irked Kannada and Culture Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi, who accused him for murdering the Constitution of India on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Shivaraj Tangadagi, speaking to the media personnel at Hosapete in Vijayanagara district on August 17, said, “The prosecution sanction against the Chief Minister is a part of a much bigger plan with Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to destabilize the democratically elected government in Karnataka.

“The MUDA sites were give to Mr. Siddaramaiah’s wife according to law. During Assembly elections and Lok Sabha polls, Mr. Siddaramaiah openly criticized Mr. Modi, Mr. Shah and other BJP leaders directly. Now these BJP people are after him just for that reason. Also they cannot bear if he becomes popular due to his popularity guarantee schemes. We should remove this misusing governor from his office because we can’t allow such culture [revenge] happening in Karnataka. We will fight it out legally and win it also entire Congress party will stand with Shri Sidramaiah,” he added.

He later cancelled the press conference which was suppose to take place at Tungabhadra Command Area Development Authority office at Minirabad in Koppal District along with hydro mechanical engineer N.Kannaiah Naidu who led a team of experts in installing a stop lock gate instead of Crest Gate No 19. Tungabhadra reservoir washed away on 10th august late night. Then he went straight away Bengaluru city for attending Emergency meeting called by CM.

Mr Tangadagi described one of the complainants that sought permission from the Governor to prosecute Siddaramaiah; TJ Abraham as a ‘blackmailer’ adding that he has been fined INR 20 crores by the Supreme Court in another case.

“Mr. Abraham filed a complaint against the Chief Minister without knowing anything. The Governor sent a show cause notice to CM within few hours of receiving that complaint. This shows that governor office is puppet of union government and Modi-Shah,” said Tangadagi.

Mr. Tangadagi, in response to BJP leaders who claimed that MUDA scam came into light because of someone inside the Congress. Who was not happy with Siddaramaiah, told them to clean their house before pointing fingers at others.

Mr. Tangadagi said: “BJP leaders like Basangouda Patil Yatnal had themselves admitted that many of their party leaders were corrupt. What face do they have to organize a padayatra (march) to Mysuru against alleged corruption of Congress and Siddaramaiah? Before questioning congress BJP State unit president B.Y.Vijayendra should answer the question raised by his own party leaders,” he said.
