Indira IVF, on its part to give a promising future to the childless couples launched a new campaign known as #IVFkiPehel. This initiative will focus on guiding couples through the difficult path of parenthood with guidance from reproductive health specialists.
For many people and couples globally, there is still low fertility awareness and treatment option knowledge. Despite improvements made in medical technology that have made fertility treatments more accessible and efficient, most people remain unaware hence leading to delayed or missed opportunities for seeking help. Consequently, individuals struggling with conception may endure longer periods of psychological and physical strains.
This campaign epitomizes ‘pehel’ meaning “take the first step” by encouraging spouses to favor professional advice over myth-driven, outdated or traditional fertility cures.
In this campaign that sees Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan take the lead in debunking myths and motivating potential parents-to-be, numerous people will be inspired to go for the right kind of fertility treatments.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) latest report infertility is a global crisis affecting one out of every six individuals. The situation is particularly dire in India where it poses a major health challenge among young people especially women of reproductive age. As E&Y’s last report shows 27.5 million Indians are affected by infertility currently but this number will significantly rise soon due to an increase in cases related to this issue. Another recent paper states that India’s Total Fertility Rate (TFR) is expected to continue declining thereby indicating an urgent need for addressing infertility alongside increasing knowledge on advanced management strategies. Such demographic trends put the whole country at risk and call for swift action.
#IVFkiPehel aims at sensitizing masses about infertility and its different forms of treatment options while emphasizing on visiting gynecologists early and attending timely checkups. It therefore hopes to change beliefs by giving true information so that such people can see consultants who specialize in helping them get children. The aim of this campaign is to empower couples with the knowledge of why they should see fertility doctors early and ensure they have the right checkup done on time.
According to the CEO and Co Founder of Indira IVF, Kshitiz Murdia, “Over twenty years there has been improved technology in medical science which has revolutionized fertility treatment making it far much more achievable accessible and affordable than it was. At the moment, Indira IVF has 140 centers around with locations across the country thus ensuring that comprehensive fertility care is available to as many people as possible. This sector has grown exponentially due to futuristic technologies as well as advanced diagnostic tools that have significantly increased success rates. Our #IVFkiPehel campaign will educate couples about these advancements while the right advice from fertility specialists would ensure this dream of being a parent comes true.”
Elaborating on his thoughts behind launching #IVFkiPehel campaign Nitiz Murdia, Co- Founder and MD, Indira IVF said, “The reason we started this campaign is because we want every person in India to know about infertility. We would like people to understand that infertility is a health condition which requires professional attention for its prevention or cure. We hope our initiative will change community perspectives on fertility treatments so that couples can seek medical help without fear.”
Commenting on her association with Indira IVF, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan stated: “We think getting pregnant is so easy but there are so many men and women who struggle with infertility. I was shocked when I found out how many people experience infertility; one in six people today don’t even know where they should go for advice. When unable to get pregnant easily (which may be such an obvious milestone for some), does not seeing a specialist seem essential?”
Raising awareness on issues of fertility really feels like joining a movement that impacts lives directly. Moreover, teaming up with Indira IVF-an organization that pioneered infertility awareness and helped over 150000 couples meet their desires of having children-has been an honorable journey. Couples fighting infertility should hear me say “IVF KI PEHEL KARO – take that crucial first step and seek expert medical help. I hope my voice in Indira IVF’s #IVFkiPehel helps in sensitizing people to this problem and encourages them to make the correct move by seeking professional support for infertility.”
