Actress Kangana Ranaut is back in the news again, this time for selling her bungalow, which is located in the quite posh area of Bandra in Mumbai. The sale comes as some of her movie Emergency, which was much-awaited, has been on the backburner owing to issues with the CBFC. A report carried by Hindustan Times stated that she sold her bungalow situated in Pali Hill Bandra for Rs 32 crores. This sale was completed on 5 th September 2024.
Details of the Sale of the Property
Kangana had bought the property in the month of September 2017 at the price of Rs 20 crores. The bungalow with an area measuring 3,075 sq. ft which is constructed on the property measures 565 sq. ft of parking space as well. The seller in this case is Shweta Bathija who is a partner at Kamalini Holdings, a firm located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The documents of property registration provided by Zapkey show, this transaction included also stamp duty of Rs 1.92 crores and the registration fee of Rs 30,000.
Kangana is yet to publicly comment on the sale of the bungalow.
In this case, it needs to be noted that Kangana’s bungalow has been a point of contention one more time. Back in 2020, parts of her Bungalow in Bandra were demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC on the grounds of unauthorized construction. Kangana had previously stated that such action was taken against her for political reasons as she was in public conflict with the Shiv Sena-led Government of Maharashtra then.
Turning out to the work commitments, as mentioned above, she is currently in advance preparations for the film Emergency. The movie for which a promotion was carried out owing to the possible release date of September 6, has been subjected to much opposition from various Sikh groups and holdups in censorship from the CBF. While the film has now only recently been issued a UA certificate, the board has not yet released such documents to the filmmakers because of legal problems.
