Kangana Ranaut faces death threats before the release of Emergency film
Kangana Ranaut Comes Under Fire for Emergency Pictures
Ranaut, who has not only stars in the film Emergency minus its director, but is also the film’s director was on the receiving end of threats and insults mainly from the Sikh community. The plot, which depicts the 1975 Emergency when Indira Gandhi was India’s Prime Minister, has been branded as anti-sikh. President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) DHAMI HARJINDER SINGH has invoked a ban on the film as per which Sikhs have been oppressed and that images are stereotyping Indians.
Nevertheless, Ranaut Dhami has directed the newest critique at Kangana, although there has been pressure on Ranaut with her remarks which have been labeled anti Sikh and anti Punjab. It has given more fuel to the fire for her latest work Emergency which had already faced the anger of many quarters.
Online Death Threats
The situation boldly escalated when a video of Punjabi influencer Viky Thomas Singh was posted on social media. In the shared video, Singh is threatening Kangana Ranaut such that he refers to historical events, perpetrated by violent individuals. Very troubling are Singh’s words, ‘Agar hum sar katwa sakte hai toh sar kaat bhi sakte hai.’ ‘We are or if you take any other actions.’
In addition another man in the film warned that and only that if the movie is thumbed out, Kangana will meet the fury of Sikhs and non-Sikhs too. The video gained attention and soon went viral. Which caused a public outcry and raised the issue of safety of Ranaut to extreme possibilities.
