Prime Minister Narendra Modi will file his nomination in Varanasi at 11:40 am on Monday and according to Hindu Panchang, this is an extremely auspicious time as it falls under ‘Abhijit Mahurat’ and ‘Anand Yog’.
The Prime Minister will visit the famous Kalbairav Temple on Monday ahead of filing nominations and will hold a meeting with the BJP leaders followed by a meeting with party workers. Among the proposers of his nomination form, a woman and other prominent intellectuals are expected.
In the evening, the Prime Minister will hold a roadshow, which will begin at around 5 p.m. There will be 11 ‘welcome points’ during the roadshow, each of which will be manned by a senior BJP leader. The Prime Minister will visit the Kashgar Golden Temple after the roadshow. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath will attend the 5-km-long roadshow in Rath along with the Prime Minister.
The BJP aims to give Prime Minister Modi a victory margin of more than 700,000 votes this time. Modi’s advantage in 2019 was 480,000 votes, with a vote share of 64%, while his advantage in 2014 was 370,000 votes. Modi’s votes also increased from 581,000 votes in 2014 to 675,000 votes last time.
Congress candidate Ajay Rai contested from Varanasi in the last three elections but failed, finishing third on all occasions.
