K.K. Madhavan, the father of Vadakara MLA K.K. Rema, died at Naduvannur in Kozhikode district on July 24 morning at the age of 87.
A former Balussery secretary for the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] and a one-time chairman of the Naduvannur Grama Panchayat.
Mr. Madhavan left his party when his son-in-law and dissident CPI(M) leader T.P. Chandrasekharan – who had been its member formed Revolutionary Marxist Party (RSP) at Onchiyam in the year 2008, was killed in 2012. He used to write for Deshabhimani newspaper as well.
Among those alive are his wife Dakshayani and three daughters. The last rituals will take place later today.
