Junaid Khan spends his birthday working on sets of romantic drama starring Khushi Kapoor
As Junaid Khan gears up for his debut film Maharaj, he seems to have a busy schedule. Junaid is set to have a working birthday this year. On this special day, he will be fully immersed in shooting for his untitled next project.
A source close to the actor shared, “Junaid is so dedicated and committed to his craft that even on his birthday, Junaid will be shooting the whole day for his untitled next with Khushi Kapoor. It would be interesting to see the two actors sharing the screen space for the first time and showcase their talent.”
Fresh off the news of his historical drama Maharaj releasing on Netflix on June 14, the actor has reportedly begun filming for his next project, a yet-untitled romantic comedy. Directed by Advait Chandan of Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha fame, the film will mark Junaid’s foray into the rom-com genre and pair him opposite Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late actress Sridevi and producer Boney Kapoor.
In addition to Maharaj, Junaid also has another film with Sai Pallavi, which was shot in Japan. Stills from this project went viral earlier a few months ago, generating significant buzz.
The film is reported to be a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today, which starred and was directed by Pradeep Ranganathan. Also, the Hindi adaptation is being produced by Shristi Behl and Phantom Films, the banner responsible for critically acclaimed films like Queen, Masaan, and Udta Punjab. Notably, this marks Phantom Films’ return to production after a hiatus.
The initial shooting schedule involves three weeks in Mumbai, with the Seven Eleven Club banquet hall in Mira Road serving as the primary location for the first few days. The aim is to complete outdoor filming by mid-June before the monsoon season arrives.
