Junaid Khan, who played the role of Maharaj in his recent debut Maharaj, has spoken about “his biggest critic at home.” Junaid said in an interview with India Today that Aamir Khan his father, Reena Dutta his mother and Ira Khan her sister are “very supportive and very encouraging even in their criticism.”
“Father’s constructive criticism”
“Family support” by Junaid Khan
“We don’t really discuss films that much. But I know that Ira (my sister) is unconditionally there for me.” I am blessed because of my very supportive family. Also, they speak their mind. Papa (Aamir) would say, ‘You know what? I feel like this is the right way to go but it’s your decision.’ Moms’ also like that. So yeah, everyone is very supportive and very encouraging even in their criticism.”
“Aamir khans unique acting style” by Junaid
In addition, a question was thrown to him about the height difference between him and Aamir as well as how he differs from the latter regarding acting techniques. He further stated: “I guess it’s a compliment (laughs). No, I do not have any idea how to answer this because it doesn’t seem as if it was something conscious on my part.” Guess we’re all different as performers. He is a phenomenal actor actually. Sometimes you could not believe he looks exactly like he did in the previous film he just finished shooting yesterday himself. Hence yes we are very different as performers.
“About Maharaj”

“Junaid about his movie Maharaj”
Speaking recently with news agency Parami News, Junaid disclosed what motivated him to make the film based on Karsandas Mulji’s life. “He was a real person who in 1862 was talking about those things which even today are happening. It happens in society today. And it happens in every society. And at that time, he was fighting about it. When we didn’t have that much knowledge. So, I found the character and the story very inspirational. That there is a man who had so much understanding back then,” he had said earlier on this matter.
