In Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, security forces apprehended an affiliate of the Jammu and Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF) outfit and also seized explosives from him, a police spokesman informed.
One joint party of the police Andarmy And 38 battalion of CRPF had been having checkings on Potha bypass on Thursday evening, he said.
Security personnel reported searching and recognizing suspiciously a person who was moving from Surankote towards Potha and apprehended the individual, the spokesperson stated.
In the course of the search, he also recovered a blue bag which contained three HE-36 hand grenades and demolition substances among other materials, he further stated.
The initial probe suggested it was Mohammad Shabir from the Daryala Nowshera area, and the spokesperson said he was in contact with a handler in a PoK Azim Khan aka Mudeer who told him to go to Surankot town to pick up this consignment.
The police have taken required action and further arrests are likely.
