Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday, (September 07, 2024) assured that Jammu and Kashmir would receive the status of state once again after assembly elections, which were the first electoral exercise under the national flag and Constitution post- abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir region by the Modi government.
Accusing the Congress- NC coalition, he said that they are trying to bring back the “old system” of governance.
The NDA government would not allow the return of terrorism, ‘autonomy’ and injustice towards any segment of the community be it Gujjars, Pahari, Bakerwals and Dalits who came under the reservation of the BJP government, he said.
Mr. Shah is currently in Jammu on a two-day trip to work on the BJP’s election strategies ahead of the three-phase assembly elections starting September 18.
He released the party’s manifesto on his first day of visit on Friday and also chaired two crucial meetings with senior leaders to discuss various campaign initiatives in advance.
“The next elections in J&K are significant in nature because they will be held for the first time after independence but under a single nation’s banner and constitution. Polls are held every 5 years but earlier, there existed a system of two flags and two constitutions. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, there is only one chief ‘Modi, ‘as home minister of the BJP’ told this to the party workers’ rally in the city on Saturday.”
Referring disdainfully to the alliance between National Conference and Congress, Mr. Shah alleged that they want to plunge Jammu and Kashmir back to the fire of terrorism when the government has reduced terror incidents in the union territory by 70%.
“The National Conference and the Congress can rest assured that they will never form the government in J&K. ‘Please be assured that’ if A and C policies are in power then B will not come back”, Mr. Shah assured the party workers urging them that in order for them to healthy constituency BJP candidates will have to be elected to make up the next government.
