The semi-final round of the 52nd annual and international Emmy Awards’ jury was held on JioCinema, the Indian movie streaming platform for Viacom18. This meeting had several participants who were experts in this sector including Tisca Chopra, Ranvir Shorey, Bhavani Iyer, Nitya Mehra, Ranjeet Thakur, Rahul V. Chitella, Suparn Verma, Kirti Kulhari, Sonali Kulkarni Sameer Saxena Abhinay Deo Divya Dutta Sandhya Mridul and Oni Sen.
Speaking about being part of the panel, actor Ranvir Shorey said: “The largest feathers in my cap will be because of this association with academy. It is a moment of great honor for me to see good works from all across globe regardless of their magnitude being rewarded; as an actor constantly yearning for captivating stories. A legitimate pride arises when one becomes a member jury panel for International Emmy® Awards 2024 especially because it bridges over local-global storytelling dichotomy giving multiple voices a stage.”
Speaking on her inclusion as a jury member at International Emmy® Awards for the first time ever Tisca Chopra said that she is truly honored to be chosen for such an amazing journey. She added: “It’s really humbling when you see these talented individuals who are so creative and dedicated to their craft – they deserve all accolades coming their way… And I love JioCinema which has been supportive enough both locally n globally.”
Sonali Kulkarni stated: “I am glad that I got selected as one of the judges this year’s International Emmy® Awards. Seeing content from various corners of world gain accolades in a platform like this is extremely gratifying as someone rooted in regional cinema , Hindi commercial cinema and international films . This celebration of excellence won’t be complete without me participating more in it as more content is projected to the world.”
Lastly it can be said that Semi-Final round of Judging is a vital component in Academy’s yearly event aiming at rewarding outstanding television products outside America; this competition includes Arts Programming Drama Series Non Scripted Entertainment Kids programming and many others where rivals are many and celebrated.
