“Jharkhand, which is preparing for elections to the 81-member Assembly, has 100% enrollment of voters belonging to the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) in the electoral roll,” Bihar Election Commission (EC) official says.
There are 2.59 crore electors registered in the state where the Assembly will complete its tenure on January 05, 2025.
“There is 100% enrollment of 1.78 lakh voters who belongs to eight PVTGs in the electoral roll. All officers were specially instructed to improve the PVTG and tribal participation in the elections as the elections were targeted as inclusive and participative,” Chief Electoral Officer Jharkhand K Ravi Kumar remarked.

What he said was that the second Special Summary Revision (SSR) in the State, with respect to July 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, has been completed and the electoral roll was published on 27 August. He also added that copies of the same were distributed to political parties.
29% of the total 2.59 crores of electors registered in the state Sole Woman Voter Cards stands at 1.28 crores making up 49%.
In the State, there are 11.05 lakh first-time voters aged 18-19 years old, 1.14 lakh 85+ senior and 3.64 lakh ‘PwD’ voters registered. Also Head of Election Administration claimed, “there are more than 1845 voters who are 100+years.”
The Election Commission on Tuesday (September 24, 2024) said it has conveyed to both the Central and State enforcement agencies that ‘it shall be zero tolerant towards use of money power’ in the ensuing Assembly elections.
On Monday and Tuesday (September 23 and 24) Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and S.S. Sandhu were in Ranchi to take reviews of the poll preparedness and meetings of political parties, security forces and other stakeholders.
