US vice president-elect JD Vance on Thursday shared his Thanksgiving greetings to all Americans with a GOP victory meme, targeting Democrats.
“Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Despite our challenges, we remain the greatest nation in the world, and I’m very grateful for it–and for all of you!” Vance posted, offering his thanks to the American people during the holiday season.
Alongside his message, Vance shared a meme that quickly gained attention. The image depicted what appeared to be a map of the United States, served up on a plate by both Vance and Trump, with Vance portrayed as Trump’s wife. In the meme, nearly all of the states were coloured red, symbolising the Republican victory in the recent US Presidential elections on November 5. The typical Thanksgiving meal of a cooked turkey was replaced by the image of Vance and Trump serving a red-coloured map of America, seemingly presenting the Republican win as a gift for the country.
The post sparked a variety of reactions online, with responses coming from Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Musk, known for his active presence on social media, responded to the meme with a laughing emoji.
