Another take away from the Hema committee report, which unveiled heart-rending stories of sexual abuse and several other nauseating forms in the Malayalam film industry, is that, a well-known actress Jayasurya has been accused of sexually harassing a woman who worked at the state government secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram during the shooting of a movie some years back.
The Cantonment police booked the case under non bailable provisions which included section 354 (assault intending to outrage a woman’s modesty), 354 a (punishment for sexual harassment) and 509 (character of insult by words gesture or act to a woman) against the Indian Penal Code.
The impurity has been surfaced in regards with the actor with the allegation of attempting to misbehave with the co-worker on the sets of movie named as De Ingottu Nokkiye in the year 2008. A co-actor had claimed that he had tried to undress her in the vicinity of a toilet.
The complaint was based on the statement made to the special investigation team set up to look into such allegations, which was made at her house on Wednesday. Seven people including actors M Mukesh MLA, Jayasurya, Edavela Babu, Maniyanpilla raju had defamed the complainant by using profane words which were most obnoxious and obscene.
