Javed Akhtar, a veteran screenwriter and lyricist, has added to his real estate portfolio in Juhu, one of the most prosperous neighborhoods in Mumbai. Akhtar recently bought a flat for Rs 7.76 crore according to documents obtained from SquareYards.com.

This newly purchased residential unit occupies an area roughly equivalent to 1199.42 square feet. The complete deal was sealed on July 2 and included stamp duty of Rs 46.02 lakh and registration fee of Rs 30,000.To be specific, the property is located at Sagar Samrat Building commonly known for its upmarket homes and as a residence for celebrities.

Moreover, this particular purchase marks Akhtar’s second purchase within two years in Juhu. Reportedly, he also purchased another apartment within the same cooperative housing society in 2021 for Rs 7 crores. Remarkably enough, the area that he now calls home is an entirely different floor within this society ever since.
How Javed Akhtar Delayed His Dream House Plan
During one of his interviews with Mojo Story, he talked about his properties at Juhu including his plan to build his dream house there. However; because of construction delay, he revealed that at present moment he is living in a smaller two-bedroom flat with her wife actress Shabana Azmi. In addition to that, while talking about their home furnishing conflicts that at times cause tension between them as couple, She even mentioned jokingly how both have always had similar taste when it comes to such issues hence they say disagreements over interior décor might ruin their marriage but they solve all these things amicably if such matter arises between them
