Telugu choreographer Jani Master has been reported to police for molesting a former worker in the company, as per various reports. The 21-year-old woman met Master at an event in 2017 and was offered a job as an assistant choreographer two years later. In further detail, the unfortunate incident took place in a hotel in Mumbai where Master and other dancers had checked into for a show.
After some complaints were made against Master, he was put under suspension by the workers’ union and Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. He was picked up in Bengaluru on Thursday and will be moved to Hyderabad. Master has been a part of many top box office grosser Telugu movies such as Baahubali and Pushpa: The Rise.
Woman accuses Master of sexual abuse and threats
The woman also mentioned in her complaint that when Jani Master went to do the choreography, two managers, who are male assistants, also went with him to Mumbai for the same purpose. In her defense, she usually has her mother with her, but this time she was unable to do so because of ticket problems. The woman accused Master of physical pressure and mental torture during multiple photoshoots and rehearsals and many more assaults on the actresses.
From the police remanded report, the complainant who was mere 16 years of age at the time of the incident had faced repeated sexual assault for a period extending to four years and the victim was mother who was now against the oppressed father. The complaint also alleges that Master constrained her to embrace his religion and ‘wed’ him.
Jani Master’s political affiliation
Jani Master belongs to actor politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party, which is an ally of TDP. As it comes in the light of the accusations, the Jana Sena party has directed Master to refrain from attending any such political functions.
