Another powerful role awaits Janhvi Kapoor as she is preparing for it. In the much-awaited movie Ulajh, she will play an Indian Foreign Services (IFS) officer. The film was recently announced by the actress alongside her co-stars Roshan Mathew and Gulshan Devaiah. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Junglee Pictures, this film will now be released on August 2, 2024. But it should be noted that this is different from the initial date of release which was to be on 5th July, 2024. Currently the filmmakers are working hard to complete the post-production phase of the movie.
On her Instagram handle, Janhvi went ahead to share a video with caption “#Ulajh is now set to release on 2nd August in cinemas near you! See you guys with popcorn soon! #UlajhInCinemas2ndAugust!”
The film Ulajh revolves around a young diplomat who is also an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer tasked with showing us. How difficult this can get in terms of career and family life challenges she faces day in day out. Janhvi Kapoor has built significant anticipation through its gripping teaser which assures its audience that it will deliver a strong performance that highlights various shades in her character.
Janhvi has expressed immense excitement about being part of Ulajh. In a statement, she revealed: “The script instantly attracted me. As an actor, I’m constantly seeking roles that push me beyond my comfort zone, and portraying a character in the world of the IFS was exactly that. This title’s meaning defines my character and plot comprises multiple layers, emotions and complexities both challenging and thrilling. I cannot wait till people see me playing this new role created by Sudhanshu whose way of doing things within this genre is very innovative. Additionally I am looking forward to collaborate with such talented actors and Junglee Pictures for the first time ever.
The script was written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria while Atika Chohan wrote the dialogues of this modern thriller ensuring viewers have a fresh experience. Besides Janhvi Kapoor, Ulajh features an amazing supporting cast including established names like Rajesh Tailang, Meiyang Chang, Sachin Khedekar, Rajendra Gupta, Jitendra Joshi.
