When they made their Bollywood debut, Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor were featured in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak. Now, after six years, the two are about to appear together on screen. It is provided by Dharma Productions and directed by National Award winner Neeraj Ghaywan.
As per Peeping Moon, the movie is still in pre-production and is set to start shooting this October in Bhopal. The movie will also feature Vishal Jethwa who previously appeared in Tiger 3.
Dharma Productions’ Next Film Starring Janhvi Kapoor And Ishaan Khatter Directed By Neeraj Ghaywan: Report
The report explains that it’s an “emotional human drama” for Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. It is a new chapter for both of them, ”reports suggest that“ It’s a well-written ensemble-cast drama that Neeraj Ghaywan has been working on for the past two years.
Said a source close to development who wanted not to be name “Both Janhvi and Ishaan have great respect for the director’s work and quickly jumped on board as soon as they heard about the film because it gives them roles which are completely different from what they played in Dhadak. They could hardly wait to re-collaborate since their first film and they are extremely excited that they have found exactly what they need in terms of reunions with Neeraj’s film.”
After his first film Masaan starring Vicky Kaushal released in 2015, he directed Sacred Games season 2 as well as episodes of Made In Heaven Season 2 and Dharma productions’ anthology Ajeeb Daastaans.
This will be her fifth movie with Dharma Productions after Dhadak, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Mr & Mrs Mahi, and the upcoming Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. However, Dostana 2 could have been the sixth addition before it was shelve. In contrast, Ishaan Khatter has done only one movie for Dharma besides Dhadak so this is his second with them. The movie also serves as a big change for TV actor Vishal Jethwa. Who is best know for his role of an antagonist in Yash Raj Films’ Mardaani 2 and Tiger 3. It will be his first film with Dharma Productions.
On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor’s next theatrical release is Ulajh – a gripping thriller that hits theaters on August 2. Additionally, she also has Devara: Part 1 opposite Jr NTR which comes out on September 27th in cinemas. Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatter has two projects lined up on Netflix; one is an international series call The Perfect Couple alongside. Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning and the other one is a romantic drama series Royals featuring Bhumi Pednekar too.
