During an electoral rally, the Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni delivered her speech.
After her victory in Italy for the European Parliament vote, the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expected to consolidate her power with a win and as far-right parties gained across the union.
According to a poll conducted by Swg and published by La7, Melloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy party was on track to be the winner; it was anticipated that it would score between 27% and 31% as compared to just over 6% in 2019.
The runner-up immediately after this poll was the left-wing Democratic Party which received 21.5% –25.5%, bringing out polarization between Italy’s two major political coalitions.
Expected gains were slightly below ten percent for Matteo Salvini’s League and Antonio Tajani’s Forza Italia, both partners in Meloni’s administration founded by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
In Europe too, she intends to get more votes while having Italians rally around her personality such that despite never having any plans of leaving Rome, she has decided to top her party list in this election telling them merely vote “Giorgia”.
