Residential areas in northern Gaza were devastated by the Israeli forces, who continued blowing up residential neighborhoods using their tanks and aircrafts; whereas in Rafah at least five people were killed by Israeli air strikes.
This month simultaneous attacks have occurred from Israel against the northern and southern edges of Gaza strip causing a new influx of hundreds of thousands fleeing their homes with sharp restriction on humanitarian aid making it increasingly likely that famines will occur.
Findings show that Jabalia, which is home to refugees staying there for almost 75 years now, has been razed to the ground as bulldozers belonging to the Israeli army cleared properties including shops and the area around this neighborhood’s local market and this was conducted in a military operation whose commencement dates back just over two weeks ago.
Israel asserts it has come back to Hamas after months of claiming to have dismantled it completely in order to prevent reestablishment of weapons inside this camp by the militant group currently ruling Gaza.
According to health authorities and Gaza Civil Emergency Service, dozens of dead bodies are still trapped under debris in homesteads and on roads in Jabalia but they can not be rescued from them by rescue teams.
“Israel is demolishing the camp upon our heads; its bombardment does not stop while food supplies are demanded for even more. We need lives saved no excess food” said Abu El Nasser who relocated from Jabalia camp to nearby Gaza City.
Over 35 thousand Gazans (as reported by Gaza health ministry) have been killed during these eight months war while another 10 thousand are missing believed buried inside collapsed buildings.
Following an assault into southern Israel where militants took about 250 hostages on October 7th , killing 1200 Israelis according to official figures, Israel is intent on wiping out Hamas’ presence.
There has been a full-scale destruction affecting houses schools hospitals leading to a disastrous humanitarian situation for inhabitants especially those based within overcrowded coastal regions
“About 70 terror targets” across the Gaza Strip, including military compounds, weapon storage sites and warehouses, missile launchers and observation posts were among the areas that Israeli Defence Forces said it had dismantled in its latest report of yesterday’s military activities.
Israeli tanks have been encircling Jabalia’s Al-Awda Hospital for three days now; while also firing at Kamal Adwan hospital located in Beit Lahiya town just next to Jabalia by medics.
Meanwhile overnight an airstrike on a house in Jabalia killed at least three people in the north; while in Khan Younis to the south airstrikes took away lives of three children inside a house and another five persons including three children died at home in Rafah.
Khuzaa residents have fled into neighboring territories east of Khan Younis after some Israeli troops invaded their neighborhood from the eastern edge bulldozing through the border fence.
One resident from Khuzaa told Reuters over telephone as he was leaving with his family there was bombing everywhere; “people are fleeing. It was a surprising incursion.”
By this time Israel is still conducting operations within Rafah city found on southern borders of Gaza strip where more than half of 2.3 million population of this region went for refuge having been expelled from northern parts.
According to UNRWA, the major Gaza based agency of United Nations, over 800,000 have fled from Israel’s aid since at the beginning of this month it began targeting a border city though international community appealed for restraint that would prevent loss of lives.
To this end, Israel has committed itself to continue with Rafah assault in order to uproot last four Hamas fighters who are hiding there.
The Israeli military said yesterday that it had “identified a terrorist shooting mortar shells at IDF troops” but no injuries were reported. It stated that it destroyed the enemy by air strike and found out rockets and other military equipment in the region.
