IRCTC, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, apologised to a married couple who discovered a cockroach in their meal on board the Vande Bharat Express from Bhopal to Agra.
This was after Vidit Varshney turned to social media and complained that his uncle and aunt were served an insect with their meal on the train. In response, IRCTC apologized for it saying they are not treating the matter as a joke.
Thus, according to the firm, this led to imposition of fines against said food provider while also making efforts to improve checks related with food preparation and delivery.
Railway Seva which is India Railways’ official passenger support channel has also taken note of Mr. Varshney’s complaint. This incidence has sparked renewed conversations across different social media platforms centered on train food quality assurance.
