The helicopter on which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was travelling is said to have suffered a “hard landing” on May 19. Iranian state media reported, without giving more details. It was stated that the incident took place in East Azerbaijan province of Iran where Mr. Raisi had been traveling. According to the state-run IRNA news agency, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and the Governor of Iran’s East Azerbaijan province were among other officials and bodyguards who had boarded the helicopter.

Southwest monsoon makes onset over Nicobar Islands: IMD
India Meteorological Department said that the monsoon season of South-West, which is the lifeline of India’s agrarian economy had started on Sunday in the southernmost part of the country, Nicobar Islands. “Southwest monsoon has advanced into some parts of the Maldives, and the Comorin area and some parts of the South Bay of Bengal, Nicobar Islands and South Andaman Sea on Sunday,” the weather office said.
SIT likely to submit report on poll violence in Andhra Pradesh to ECI on May 20
The SIT (special investigation team) constituted to probe into poll related violence in Andhra Pradesh is expected to submit its report to Election Commission of India (ECI) by May 20. The government shifted Palnadu Collector as well as Tirupati Superintendent of Police (SP), while SPs for Anantapur districts and Palnadu along with twelve police officers were suspended. The government established SIT to look further into violence.
