The authorities in Iran executed two people publicly on Monday for the murder of a police officer during a robbery in Central Iran, under the announcement by the judicial branch of government.
“Early this morning in the city of Khomein in Markazi province of Iran the order to kill 2 armed robbers was put into effect.” Provably, in the Mizan report, local prosecutor was quoted.
As per the account, it was carried out in front of people on Monday, in the morning.
Iran’s procedure of execution is hanging, other than cases of amputation, which is exceptionally carried out in the general public, death sentences are rarely given or carried out in public by the state.
The two men had killed an officer of the law the report said nearly four years ago while attempting to run away from a confrontation with the police.
‘Iran has been recorded as the second highest executing country in a year next only to China’ in the view of right bodies such as Amnesty International.
Executions and the death penalty are obviously not going anywhere in Iran as most of the sentence is given out for manslaughter, drug trafficking and aggravated rape.
