Calling the 2022 federal bureau of investigation’s (FBI) raid in Mar-a-Lago “invasion of her privacy,” former first lady Melania Trump warned that this act is a warning to all Americans that freedom and rights should be respected.
A video, promoting her upcoming memoir, started with words of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution and featured the former first lady later, slamming the FBI’s raid.
“US Constitution Fourth Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated,” the video starts with this statement.

“I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America. The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings. This is not just my story, it serves as a warning to all Americans, a reminder that our freedom and rights must be respected,” she said.
The video concluded with a sneak peek at Melania Trump’s new book, Melania, which is hitting the market on October 1.
Former President Trump has denounced the Mar-a-Lago raid as politically motivated, with agents recovering over 100 classified documents and folders, reported The Hill.
Trump faced 40 charges related to the alleged mishandling of classified records and attempts to obstruct the government’s efforts to retrieve them. However, US District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the case in July, stating that special counsel Jack Smith’s appointment was unlawful. Smith subsequently appealed the ruling.
In late 2022, the former president revealed that Melania Trump felt “very violated” following the FBI’s search of their residence. “She felt very violated. I mean, this is a terrible thing,” he said. “They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else, and it wasn’t left the way it — they found it.”
