The high-intensity campaign for Lok Sabha election 2024 ended on May 30 leaving political parties divided along acrimonious lines of caste, religion, reservation and citizenship.
Fifty-seven seats in eight States and union territories are scheduled for polling on Saturday (June 1) during the seventh and last phase including Varanasi where PM Narendra Modi is vying for a third term. BJP had won twenty-five out of these seats in 2019. The polls began on April 19 with counting slated for June 4th.
