According to two Indian government sources Wednesday (August 7, 2024) India has withdrawn all non-essential staff along with their families from its embassy as well as consulates in Bangladesh that is its neighbor after weeks of unrest had forced prime minister Sheikh Hasina out of office and into exile.
According to the insiders, “The nation’s diplomats are still in Bangladesh with continuing activities at the missions”.
India has also got assistant high commissions or consulates in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet apart from its High Commission or embassy in Dhaka.
