An official said on Sunday, July 28, 2024 that after beating a car driver and destroying his vehicle as they claimed it rammed them in Muradnagar, some kanwariyas; the police have tightened security in certain parts of Ghaziabad district and imposed additional traffic restrictions.
The officer further stated that the kanwariyas later caused disturbance by blocking a section of Delhi-Meerut expressway where the incident took place, resulting in traffic jam.
Ghaziabad Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Mishra added that two companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been deployed at Ganga canal bridge at Muradnagar town near Rawali Road while other areas within the district are highly secured following this incident due to its sensitivity.
Driver thrashed
“He said the incident occurred on Saturday near Rawali Road in Muradnagar when a vehicle collided with some kanwariyas , with one of them being claimed to have had his/ her pot carrying kanwar (pot) allegedly gotten broken. The fuming kanwariyas then pulled out the driver from his car and thrashed him,” this happened because he was involved in an accident which saw him hit into several Kanwariyas.
Mr. Mishra maintained that they also turned around and defiled it.
