Dakshin Dinajpur: Border Security Forces (BSF) are vigilant at the India-Bangladesh border.
On Tuesday (August 13, 2024), a total of ten Bangladeshi nationals who were trying to conceal their identities using fake Aadhaar cards were apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF), Anti-Human Trafficking Team and Intelligence Unit.
The search operations were carried out in that part of the state as part of a focused campaign against Bangladeshi nationals. Special teams led by officers with credible inputs conducted searches at suspected dropping points located in and around Amtali and Dukli, West Tripura, on Wednesday morning.
“Around 05:15 hrs, BSF team alongwith sister agencies apprehended four female Bangladeshis including one baby. Subsequently based upon lead, at about 08:00 hours, joint party further apprehended six other Bangladeshis along with one Suspected Indian Tout,” added statement from BSF.
“They initially denied being Bangladeshis and produced Fake Aadhar cards to legitimize themselves but while they were being preliminary questioned they admitted to being Bangladeshis,” reads the statement
Questioning is ongoing by GRP and BSF. The crackdown has intensified again on touts’ network involved in bringing illegal immigrants from Bangladesh into Tripura State by the BSF.
Meanwhile, thirteen men and three women among them were detained at Agartala Railway Station which happened on Tuesday evening August 13th 2024.
Three individuals have been identified among those arrested as touts operating illegally from Bangladesh . The individuals have been taken into custody by local authorities and case has been registered under various sections of laws in AGARTALA Government Railway Police Station (GRPS).
